Kingsway Regional (NJ) graduate Elijah Bonsignore ’11, who is headed St. Thomas More (CT) for a post-grad year, is being recruited by Robert Morris, Mount St. Mary’s, Quinnipiac, and Central Connecticut State. He had offers from the old staff at Robert Morris and Mount St. Mary’s and Quinnipiac had previously extended an offer. Bonsignore, who was playing with the East Coast Elite DE Panthers, has Robert Morris as his leader, but he wants to go to Rutgers. “That’s where I [am going to] work my hardest to get,” Bonsignore said of Rutgers.

Tuesday, 27 July 2010

ImageRecruit Scoop: Jarell Lane, a 5-foot-11 combo guard from St. Patrick in New Jersey, is now off the board. Lane, a part of the class of 2011, has committed to the University of Maryland Baltimore County, otherwise known as UMBC. “I committed to UMBC,” said an excited Lane. “I committed there because it’s a very good academic school. When I went on my unofficial visit, I really felt comfortable with Coach Monroe and his staff.”

The Garden State prospect went on to say, “the team made me feel right at home. I also met with the president of the school and we spoke about life issues.” That, among the many other reasons, “inspired” Lane to speak to his family about making a pledge. Jarell decided to inform the school that he would commit on July 22nd and did not unveil the news until now.

Armstrong rewards Maine's loyalty and commits early
Tuesday, 27 July 2010

ImageNew York Post: Andre Armstrong could’ve had a long list of interested colleges. He could’ve waited until next year at this time, see what other schools came along after a year at Monroe Community College, building himself up and expanding his game.

Instead, he committed to the University of Maine, the program that was following him since this time last summer.

“They were loyal to me,” said the former Forest Hills standout fresh off a postgraduate year at Notre Dame Prep (Mass.). “They waited a long time. Even when I didn’t get the [SAT] score I [needed in the spring], they said we’re gonna work with you, get you a junior college.”

Armstrong, a 6-foot-2 guard from Flushing, rewarded that faith and plans to sign next November, the first moment the NCAA allows players for the Class of 2011 to put pen to paper.
