Analysis:
Nurideen is a lanky, athletic point guard.  He's at his best in the open court.  His quick ball handling manuevers allow him to get to the hoop in the half court game as well.  He can drive in either direction and actually goes left more than most right handed players do.  He can finish well, but will only get better in that area as he adds muscle.  Nurideen loves to bounce off of defenders and shoot short fade away jumpers.  He has a nice stroke, but really needs to improve the consistency of his jumper.   He  is a pretty good passer when he wants to be, but most of the time he looks to score first.

Game Analysis:

Eastern Invitational Session 5 NBA Underclass All Star

Donofrio Classic (3/30/06)

Lindsey could be the next great point guard in Philly.  He has excellent size for his position, very similar to Mustafa Shakur.  He’s very smooth dribbling the ball and can finish well.  He showed solid passing skills, but could distribute the ball better.  He needs to improve his jump shot to take his game to the next level.

Donofrio Classic (4/10/06)

Nurideen certainly has a ton of talent and a nice build.  There are several areas I’d like to see him improve upon though.  He is a good slasher, but need to become a better jump shooter.  He also needs to learn how to play with his teammates better.  Another thing that bothered me is that Nurideen spent half of the game arguing with the officials.  He could learn a thing about that from Brooks too.  On one play, two guys ran over Brooks, but he just hustled back down the court after no call was made.

Mid Atlantic AAU Qualifier (5/20/06)

Lindsey had solid game in this one, but his attitude continues to bother me.  He was arguing with the refs again much like he did at the Donofrio.  He then ended up getting benched by his coach after the officials had to separate him and another player twice within a several minute span.  Nurideen definitely has a ton of talent.  I just hope he matures as much as he improves over the next three years.

Philly USA All-City Basketball Classic (6/2/06)

Nurideen did not have one of his better games either.  He did a good job of running the floor and driving past his man, but struggled to finish.  However, he was fouled on quite a few occasions, but no whistle blew.  He typically is a good finisher, but will become even better once he adds some muscle to his thin frame.  He’s a super talent and should continue to improve.

Sonny Hill League (7/13/06)

I walk in the door halfway through his game, and within two minutes Nurideen is on the bench again after a pushing match with another player.  I didn't see how it started, but even if he didn't ignite it, he needs to learn not to react.  After that point he made some spectactular plays, but also struggled as he turned the ball over five times.  He also missed two free throws that could've sealed the victory for his team in the final minutes of the contest.  I've seen flashes of what Nurideen can do, but I want to see him focused on the game for its full length rather than letting things such as the refs and other players bother him.  I'm sure that's quite a site to see.
