{mosImage}Here is a look at some more of the top players from this weekend’s Rumble in the Bronx at Fordham University.

Westchester Hawks

Alberto Estwick (2008, 6-3 SG) Committed to Fordham
Alberto is one in a long line of impressive guards for St. Anthony’s. He was one of the more impressive players on Saturday as well. He has good size for a guard and is a fantastic transition finisher. Alberto also has a smooth three point jump shot in his arsenal. He is able to score off the bounce and can absorb contact as well.  Fordham looks to have a good pickup in Alberto.

Tyshawn Taylor (2008, 6-3 SG)
Tyshawn is a good sized point guard. He’s a solid ball handler who can get into the lane, although he could be quicker off the dribble. Tyshawn an athletic player who runs the floor well and can score in transition. He is more of a scoring point guard than a setup man. Tyshawn is another talented guard in the extremely deep St. Anthony’s backcourt.

Trinity Fields (2008, 6-1 PG/SG)
Trinity is a steady combo guard. He’s fairly quick off the bounce. He has a beautiful crossover move and can distribute the ball after breaking down the defense. Trinity is also a proficient three point shooter. He can knock down the mid range jumper as well.

Sean Kilpatrick (2008, 6-3 200 SG)
Sean is an athletic guard who is tough on the offensive glass. He’s a strong player and thus a good finisher around the basket. He runs the floor well. In the morning game, Sean missed a three point attempt and was rather quiet offensively.

A.J. Rodgers (2008, 6-5 245 SF/PF) Committed to St. Joe's
A.J. is an active rebounder. He was good on the boards on both ends of the floor. His touches were limited on the offensive end. A.J. plays mostly on the interior with this team, but is may be more suited to be a small forward at the next level.

Team Take Over

Devin Ebanks (2008, 6-8 SF) Committed to Indiana
On Saturday afternoon, Devin committed to Indiana. When he stepped on the court later, he sure didn’t disappoint. Devin is an incredibly long wing player. He handles the ball as well as most guards and can shoot from the perimeter as well. He had a nice spin move and finish in the afternoon session. The long strider can also absorb contact and score. Devin is a fantastic player and should fit in nicely in the Big Ten.

Travis Jordan (2009, 6-6 SF)
Travis is another long wing player. He is a good perimeter shooter, although he can be a bit streaky. Travis has a smooth stroke and showed it off when he converted a four point play during the evening game against the Gauchos.

Quasim Pugh (2008, 5-10 160 PG)
Quasim is a guard who likes to attack off the dribble. He possesses an excellent crossover move. On one play, he used the crossover and finished with a scoop shot. He can drive in either direction. Quasim had a nice drive and dish to Devin Ebanks to tie the game up late. He also was called for a charge though with the game tied. Quasim is a talented guard.

Scott Machado (2008, 6-1 PG)
Scott did a good job of running the offense for his team. He distributed the ball to his teammates. The pass first guard was aggressive attacking the hoop and scored in that fashion as well. He looked slow last time out, but speed wasn’t a problem during this game. Scott couldn’t match the Gauchos guards in that area, but few can. He was a little overly aggressive towards the end and did struggle with two late turnovers.

Long Island Lightning

Jordan Henriquez (2008, 6-9 PF/C)
Jordan is an active forward with an impressive wingspan. He really is quite an asset to have on your backline defensively. He’s an excellent shot blocker and has developed into one of the best rebounders in the region. Like most big men on the AAU circuit, Jordan doesn’t get a lot of touches on the offensive end. He remains active though and gets himself into position for put backs or passes from his teammates. He did miss a fade away seven foot jumper and still needs to improve on the offensive end. Jordan is really a player on the rise though.

Sean Carter (2007, 6-8 205 PF/C)
Sean made an impact early with a vicous throw down. The athletic forward is also very powerful. He was at his best running the floor and dunking or pulling down rebounds.

Juice

Bilal Dixon (2008, 6-7 210 PF)
Bilal is a big, powerful post player. He is an active rebounder. He also combines that with nice hands and good touch around the basket. He scores by overpowering the opposition. He can block shots as well. In a class with few big men, Bilal may be a sleeper.

Darwin "Budda" Ellis (2009, 5-9 PG)
Budda is a small, but shifty guard. He handles the ball well and can change directions quickly in traffic. He’s cut out of the mold of a typical slashing New York guard. Budda is a gifted three point shooters as well.

New England Playaz

Derrick Thomas (2009, 6-3 SG)
Derrick is a very strong young guard. He scored on several acrobatic shots during the evening game, including a three point play. He’s a fantastic finisher after contact. Derrick can also handle the ball and get into the lane. Because he draws a lot of contact, he gets to the line quite often. He is a pretty good free throw shooter, although his form could use work. Derrick didn’t really show a jump shot, opting instead to attack the hoop again and again.

Terrell Holloway (2008, 6-0 PG)
Terrell is an explosive guard. He puts a lot of pressure on the defense because he can drive with either hand and also finishes in traffic. He will get his teammates involved by distributing the ball too. Terrell possesses a smooth jumper as well and can hit from three or pull up in the mid range area.

Jake O' Brien (2008, 6-7 PF)
Jake is a skilled big man. He struggled some to find his shot on this day as he missed from three. Jake can step out towards the perimeter though as well as score inside with a variety of post moves. He missed a hook shot, but scored on a finger roll lay in after putting the ball on the floor. Jake does handle the ball pretty well for his size. He really would benefit from adding some weight to his thin frame though.

T.J. Robinson (2007, 6-5 SG/SF)
T.J. is a long-armed wing player. He’s a solid ball handler who can finish after contact. He also brings a nice mid range game to the table. T.J. scored on a difficult reverse lay-up. He did miss a three point shot though. He also would benefit by adding some weight.

Team Breakdown

Eloy Vargas (2008, 6-10 210 PF)
Eloy is a long-armed, talented forward. He’s a very active offensive rebounder. He finishes well around the hoop. Although he missed a three point attempt, he showed a pretty good stroke from the outside to go with his interior skills.

Kenny Boynton (2008, 6-2 PG)
Kenny is a proficient ball handling guard. He uses a crossover move and changes directions in a hurry. He also threw in a hesitation dribbling move before going to his patented crossover. He showed a nice behind the back dribbling technique as well. Not surprisingly, he can get into the lane and score around the basket. He was quiet from the perimeter on this day. Kenny is a talented guard with an array of moves.

Brandon Knight (2010, 6-3 PG)
Brandon is only a rising sophomore, but this big guard is already built like an upperclassman. The quick point guard already has a well developed all around game. He can drive and dish. Brandon is a terrific scorer as well. He can score off the dribble or knock down the three point shot. Brandon hit a beautiful floater in the lane during the midday game. He  already looks to be among the best in the class of 2010.

David Loubeau (2009, 6-8 PF)
David is a long wing player. He’s possesses a smooth mid range game. He also can put the ball on the floor and drive to the hoop.

Team Odom

Ryan Davis (2007, 5-9 PG)
Ryan is a guard with a high motor who is just a lot of fun to watch. He’s always on the attack when the ball is in his hands. He can score driving, but also knock down the three point shot as well. Ryan is a solid passer too. He can probably play either guard position at the next level, although he might be somewhat undersized for a shooting guard.
