On Saturday evening, Baltimore’s best ball players participated in the BmoreHoops 3rd Anniversary Celebration at the Madison Square Dome. Not even a lightning storm could slow down the action at this outdoor covered court. We arrived later than we would’ve liked, but still managed to catch a good portion of the Junior game as well as the entire Senior game. Here is a look at some of the top players.

Senior Game

Troy Franklin Jr. (2008, 5-10 170 PG)
This is certainly the best performance to date that we’ve seen from Troy. He started the game by dialing it up from long range. He hit from just beyond the arc and followed that up with an NBA range three. Troy then flashed his ball handling ability. He has a quick crossover move and can get into the lane. On one play, he drove and then scored with a pretty scoop finish. Troy also mixed in a nice drive and dish play as well. He is a solid mid major prospect.

Sean Mosely (2008, 6-3 200 SG)
The future Terrapin was phenomenal early on. He has a very smooth stroke and he opened by burying a deep two and then followed that up with a three. He can also attack off the dribble. He got to the hoop quite often in both half court and full court sets. Sean scored a bunch, but also found his teammates on a couple of occasions. He struggled late in the game, but was able to bounce back and knock down a medium range jumper. Sean is a very talented player.

Marc Anthony Franks (2008, 6-8 PF)
Marc is a long, athletic big man. He runs the floor well and scored some in transition, including a nice reverse lay-up. He missed a deep jumper and an easy shot inside. He did block a shot too.

Larry Bastfield (2008, 6-0 178 PG)
Larry is a long armed guard. He showed he can hit a deep pull up jumper, but his shot was inconsistent throughout the game. He also is a solid ball handler and can get into the lane, although he struggled to finish.

Josh Wiegand (2008, 6-8 210 PF/C)
Josh looks to be more of a skilled big man who wasn’t well suited for the up and down pace of an all star game.  He did manage to pull down several rebounds.  He’s of an average build.  Josh showed some ability to play with his back to the basket.  He took the ball at the hoop a couple of times from the foul line area.  He appears to have a solid handle, but was unable to convert.

Terrell Vinson (2009, 6-5 SF)
Terrell is a long and athletic forward. He really gets up and down the court in a hurry. He also elevates very well and had a block on the defensive end. He did miss a jam though.

Junior Game

Isaiah Armwood (2009, 6-8 PF)
Maybe the most explosive player of the event, Isaiah played well in both the Junior (MVP) and Senior games. The high flying forward is very long and athletic. He is very smooth and scored on several dunks as well as a nice fingerroll finish. In addition to being very good in transition and around the basket, Isaiah has a smooth jumper. He buried one from the seven foot range in this contest. He also handles the basketball very well. Isaiah also won the dunk contest. He is a superb talent.

Isaiah Philmore (2009, 6-7 210 SF/PF)
Isaiah has good size and a skill set to match. He can handle the ball quite well. He also threw a nice pass to a teammate. He can pull down rebounds too and run the floor.
