Still in Vegas CAA Insider went over to the Adidas Super 64.  There were some loaded AAU teams at this event.  Here is part 1 of the player evaluations from the Adidas Super 64.

Net Gain Sports

Sam Dower (2009, 6-9 PF/C)
This talented big man was one of the best players of the day. He doesn't make flashy or fancy plays around or above the rim, but Sam is a model of efficiency on the interior. The lefty has a good set of hands and nice footwork. He loves playing with his back to the basket and is capable of going in either direction. He does favor going to his left and his best move was a short turn, face and bank home finish. He used that move several times throughout the game. Sam has a solid build and does a good job of working for position on the inside.

Sam certainly favors the bank shot to the left, but he also proved he can go right on that move. He had a nihce catch and shoot on an inbounds play where everything he did was in one fluid motion. While Sam doesn't rely on athletic plays to be effective, he does have that ability. He showed it on a transition slam dunk. Sam showed some other skills too. He stepped outside and hit a deep jumper and even handled the ball a little. Sam pulled down quite a few rebounds on both ends of the court. He was fouled often in this one and really needs to improve from the charity stripe. By our count, he was just one of five from the line. Sam finished with a strong 25 points in this game. He is a very talented post player who just produces.

Cole Stefan (2010, 6-2 SG)
Cole is a skilled shooter who was quite impressive in this one. From the outside, he hit on several pull up jumpers. He also converted a tough fall away three pointer along with two other shots from beyond the arc. Cole is a pretty good passer and a solid ball handler too. The strength of his game is certainly shooting the ball though.

DC Assault

Rashad Whack (2009, 6-2 SG)
This scorer had a solid outing. From the perimeter, he hit a three pointer and a deep pull up shot from just inside the arc. Rashad also attacked some off the dribble. He had a nice drive left and pass for an assist.

Javorn Farrell (2009, 6-4 SG)
Javorn was on the attack in this one. The defense had a difficult time containing him, so Javorn spent a lot of time at the foul line. He was fouled in transition, on a drive and in the post. He did mix in a good looking drive and dish play

Chris Sherrod (2009, 6-9 PF)
Chris is a big man with a solid build. He moves pretty well and scored inside after a nice feed on one occasion. He made a beautiful pass to a cutter on another play. Chris made a few plays, but really didn't touch the ball too much.

Juice All-Stars

Keith Spellman (2009, 6-2 SG)
This scorer wasn't as dominant as we saw a week ago, but Keith was solid. He hit a three pointer from the outside and converted on another jumper in which he was also fouled. Keith was fouled once on a drive, but didn't look to attack too much. He also forced a shot in this one as he tends to do from time to time.

Vincent Council (2008, 6-0 PG)
Vincent is really an outstanding setup man. He makes fine pass after fine pass. He drove and kicked out for open shots and also found a teammate on the break. Vincent did miss a pull up jumper on one of the few shot attempts that he took.

Curtis Loving (2008, 6-5 SF)
Curtis seems to always make a few explosive plays to catch your attention. In this one he had a rebound and coast to coast drive for a finger roll finish. Curtis also was fouled after another explosive drive. The phenomenal athlete also grabbed a few boards.

Darwin Ellis (2009, 5-9 PG)
Darwin opened by hitting on a very difficult fall away jumper. He then went quiet throughout most of the game. He did hit on a three pointer later in the contest. He possesses a smooth stroke from the outside.

New England Playaz

Jordan Williams (2009, 6-8 PF)
The New England Playaz are loaded with talented big men and they utilize them well. Guys like Jordan Williams actually get to play and they provide results too. Jordan has good size and is tough around the basket. He used his size to convert on a hoop plus the foul. He also had a very impressive spin to the left in the post and then he banked home a shot, with contact for an old fashioned three point play. Jordan put back his own miss as well. He moves well and displayed nice footwork and touch on the interior. He hit a pair of free throws too.

Austin Carroll (2009, 6-3 SG)
Austin is a guard who can really shoot the ball. He hit a pair of three pointers in this one on just a few shots attempts. He is a smart player who mixed in several nice passes too.

Jansy Cruz (2008, 5-10 PG)
Jansy made a couple plays in this one. He's small but quick and can get into the lane off the dribble. He did that several times. He hit on a three pointer too.

Dartaye Ruffin (2009, 6-7 PF)
Dartaye made some nice plays too. He finished with a nice reverse in transition. He showed his athletic ability with a pair of blocked shots. Dartaye has a solid build. He was a bit inconsistent finishing in this one.

Ohio Basketball Club

Orlando Williams Jr. (2009, 6-3 SG)
We got to see Orlando twice on this day. In the first game, he was outstanding. The off guard has good size and can really score. He can really shoot the ball from the outside. He showed off his smooth stroke with several three pointers. Orlando is capable of catching and shooting or pulling up off the dribble. He even scored on a rare four point play in this contest. Orlando doesn't only shoot the ball though. He has a quick handle and showed a beautiful crossover move. He had a nice drive left on one play. Orlando still made some of the same plays in the second contest, but he did it with less frequency.

Carl Jones (2009, 5-11 PG)
Carl is a small, but quick lead guard. He can get into the lane off the bounce with ease. He can score from the perimeter by hitting jumpers too. Carl had an old fashioned three point play in transition. He drove and scored on a tough scoop finish as well. In the second game, Carl showed more of the same change of direction plays with his quick crossover move. He scored on a reverse. He also had a nice spin move and dish off. Carl didn't look to pass too often, instead opting to score first. That is something he can certainly do.

Old School Cavs

Brett Roseboro (2009, 6-9 C)
This big man looked solid last week when we first saw him. He was even better in this one. Brett was quite efficient on the interior. The lefty banked home a shot in the post and laid in another one after a fine pass from a teammate. He also had an offensive rebound put back, where he put the ball in in one smooth, fluid motion. Brett converted with contact on another play. He possesses a nice set of hands. He grabbed a few rebounds on both ends of the floor in this one too. He also recognized a double team and passed out of the post to a cutter for an assist. Brett has really proven himself to be a good player.

Ferg Myrick (2009, 6-5 SF)
Ferg didn't have a standout game, but he made a couple plays. He had a nice drive and finish. He also used a spin move before banking home a shot. Ferg was quiet from the perimeter and actually didn't get to play too much in this game.
