Daily Journal: John Sexton and Grant Goolsby did battle in Union County for two seasons. Now they're joining forces in Booneville.

The duo was among five basketball players to sign with Northeast Mississippi Community College on Tuesday. The others were Booneville's Spence Wicks, Marshall Academy's Nick Tate and Horn Lake's Bruce Jacobs.

For Sexton, it marks his return to the area after spending his freshman season at William & Mary. The 6-foot-3 guard played his final two high school seasons at West Union, where he was named the 2006 Daily Journal Player of the Year.

His Eagles tangled often with Goolsby's Myrtle Hawks.

"Playing with Grant and MaCay Wilbanks, there were a couple of other guys I not only played against, but we became good friends," said Sexton, who averaged a triple-double his senior year. "It'll be fun."
