As was evidenced on Friday evening at the Rasual Butler All Star Game, the Class of 2011 is loaded in the Philadelphia area.  Although he didn't play the best during that event, John Johnson might already be the head of the class.

The freshman guard can already attack off the dribble, shoot from the outside or distribute the ball.  This past season, he lead Girard College to the PIAA Class A Quarterfinal round.  In Class A, he was a second team all state selection as a freshman.  He averaged 20 points per game for Girard College.

Next month, John will really get a chance to make a name for himself on the national scene as he played his way into the Reebok All American Camp this past weekend.  He didn't play in Saturday's action, but by all accounts he had a strong showing on Sunday.  He was the lone freshman from the area to be selected to the elite camp.

As he progresses on, look for John to see his recruitment pick up.  Thus far, he told us he has city school St. Joe's, La Salle and Villanova tracking his progress.  In addition to those schools, Notre Dame, Penn St., Virginia and Virgina Tech are also taking a look.  Expect big things out of John and Girard College in the coming years.

In addition to John, we'd like to congratulate Tyree Johnson, Jesse Morgan , Tyrone Garland and Ferguson Myrick, all of whom played their way into the Reebok All American Camp.  The camp will be open to the public and held at Philadelphia University July 6-10.
