The Coaches vs. Cancer Quaker City Shootout concluded on Sunday at Temple University.  All three of the championship games turned out to be nailbiters.  First, in the 16 and under Division, the PA Playaz defeated the Renegades 58-52 in overtime.  In the 17 and under Silver Championship Game the Positive Image White squad took out the Renegades 61-59.  Finally, the Baltimore Assault won 71-70 over the Philly Pride in the Gold Final.  Recruit Recon was on hand to take in the action on Sunday.  Here is a look at some of the top players throughout the day.

Baltimore Assault

Brandon Gibson (2009, 6-6 SF/PF)
Brandon was easily the best player throughout the weekend.  He stands out with his combination of interior and outside skills.  He's strong and very athletic.  Brandon dominated inside on Sunday, often overpowering defenders.  He hit a couple turnaround jumpers in the post during the final.  He has very good hands and that helped him score inside too.  Brandon really got the crowd's attention with a pair of athletic dunks.  The one that really brought them to their feet was a throw down over a defender with a foul that he converted into an old fashioned three point play.

Brandon was dominant on the glass on both ends and scored on several putbacks.  He showed nice wing skills too with the ability attack from the perimeter if needed.  He hit a pull up jumper off the dribble.  He could benefit by showing more range from the outside though.  Brandon also distributed well from the inside and outside.  He had a great tournament and looks to be a big time talent.

Dante Holmes (2010, 6-3 175 PG/SG)
We didn't write about this wing in the first two days, but probably should've.  Dante is an impressive player.  He has good size, is pretty strong and can finish after contact.  He has the ability to create off the dribble (although not the most fluid ball handler) or shoot out to three point range.  Dante also looked to setup his teammates and make some impressive passes, particularly on the break.  He is a strong offensive rebounder too and scored on several follow-ups.  He's a very impressive all around talent.

Wayne Sparrow (2010, 6-3 PG/SG) committed to Richmond
Wayne had a very strong semifinal and was solid in the championship game.  He hit several three pointers from the outside in the first game.  He attacked off the dribble and finished with a nice duck under move on one play.  He ran the floor well in that contest and grabbed a few rebounds too.  He also had a couple decent passes.  In the final, Wayne hit one three pointer, but really struggled to find his shot.  He proved throughout the weekend that he can really shoot from the perimeter.  He mixed in the ability to create and finish as well as distribute the ball.  He was a big key to the Baltimore Assault's championship run.

Lamont Huggins (2011, 6-7 PF)
Lamont played well again.  He showed more perimeter skills than he did earlier in the tournament.  He opened by hitting a deep face up jumper.  He also attacked some off the dribble.  He did airball another face up jumper though and isn't a consistent perimeter threat.  Lamont crashed the boards some more and had a pair of blocks as well.

Anthony Goode (2010, 6-1 SG)
Anthony was solid throughout the weekend.  He's a quick ball handler who gets into the lane.  The lefty converted on an old fashioned three point play.  He was blocked on a couple plays while driving though.  Earlier in the tournament, he flashed his athletic ability with a dunk.  He could benefit by setting up his teammates more.

Lakeem Duncan (2010, 6-5 SF)
This lefty hit a pair of three pointers in the semifinal.  He doesn't have the best stroke, but was able to hit nonetheless.  Lakeem also has good size for a wing.

PA Playaz

Ryan Arcidiacono (2012, 6-2 PG/SG)
Ryan was rather quiet when we recently saw him at the Donofrio Classic, but playing in this tournament he was dominant.  The skilled young combo guard can do a number of things.  He really stood out in the semifinal when he hit 4 three pointers in about 10 minutes of action.  Ryan continued that strong play in the final.  He knocked down a number of three pointers and showed excellent range.  He can pull up or catch and shoot.  Ryan's shot is very smooth.  Although he's not super quick, he is an effective ball handler.  He got into the lane often on this day.  He does an excellent job of distributing after drawing the defense towards him as well.  Because of his ability to drive, Ryan got to the line often and typically converted from there.  He picked up a couple steals on the defensive end.  Ryan has good size for a young lead guard and should be a terrific player over the next few years.  He carried his team to the title with little help in the final too.

Brendan Kilpatrick (2012, 6-3 SG/SF)
Brendan is another of the skilled young players on this team.  He really impressed us in just a few minutes of the semifinal game.  In that contest, he hit a three pointer and knocked down another jumper.  On the second shot, he was fouled and converted for a three point play.  Brendan had a nice pass in that game too.  He didn't play that well in the final though.  He moves well without the ball.  He converted a couple times after being setup by teammates.  Brendan has good size for his position.  He struggled with a couple jumpers from the outside in the second game, including an airball.  He did score on a putback.  He looks to have some nice potential.

Aaron Goodman (2012, 6-4 SF)
Aaron had a tough outing in the final.  He hit a deep jumper from the outside and banked home a shot with his left hand on the inside.  He has good size for a young wing player and is a solid ball handler.  Aaron really struggled with his jumper in this game though.  In ourr short viewing in the semifinals, Aaron made a good pass, grabbed a rebound and blocked a shot.  Despite a rough day, he looks pretty talented.

Philly Pride

Tyrone Garland (2010, 6-1 PG/SG)
Tyrone had a decent game in the final.  He hit a couple runners in the lane and nailed a few pull up jumpers from the perimeter.  He ran the floor as well and scored an old fashioned three point play on the break.  Although typically a shoot first guard, Tyrone actually setup his teammates pretty well in this contest.  He missed a pair of potential game winning runners at the end of the game and didn't finish all that well around the hoop.

Zaahir Allen (2010, 6-2 SG)
Zaahir had a good game.  He ran the floor and scored several plays in transition.  From the perimeter, he knocked down a three pointer.  He crashed the offensive boards too and scored on a putback.  Zaahir had a nice spin move and finish in the post.

Andrew Moye (2011, 6-3 SG)
Andrew played well for Philly Pride.  He did most of his damage on the offensive glass and scored on several putbacks.  He can create off the dribble too though.  He hit a runner in the lane and finished with contact after another drive.  Andrew has good size for a guard player too.  He was productive on this day.

Tyree Johnson (2010, 5-9 PG)
Tyree had a good game when attacking and shooting runners in the lane.  He nailed several of those shots, including one that resulted in an old fashioned three point play.  He struggled with his shot from deep though.  Tyree had a nice pass in transition on one play.  He grabbed a couple boards too.

Positive Image White

Rysheen Dorn (2010, 6-4 SG)
This bouncy guard can really attack off the dribble.  Rysheen gets to the rim quickly.  He hit a couple runners in the lane, including the game winner with 4 seconds left in the Silver final.  He has good length and that helps him in traffic.  Rysheen could be even better in that area, if he gets stronger.  He also seemed to play a little too fast at times, causing him to miss some shots.  He proved to be an unselfish player who often looked to setup his teammate.  He hit a deep jumper too, but didn't shoot much from the outside.  Rysheen had a nice day.

Marsalis Stewart (2010, 6-7 PF)
This left handed big man had a few plays.  He hit a deep jumper from the outside.  Marsalis showed pretty good hands on the inside.  He grabbed a few rebounds and blocked a shot too.

Jamal Jones (2010, 6-5 SF/PF)
Jamal is a very active undersized post player.  He finished well inside and hit the boards on both ends of the floor.  He likes to use spin moves to free himself up inside.

Keystone Blazers (Fink)

Whis Grant (2010, 5-11 PG/SG)
This small lead guard played fairly well.  Whis is quick off the dribble and got to into the lane often.  He frequently found himself at the free throw line because of his ability to create.  He was able to convert from there too.  Whis can attack with either hand.  When he wasn't fouled, he had some trouble finishing because of his size.  He showed the ability to shoot from the outside too as he knocked down a pair of three pointers.  Whis is more of a scoring point guard, but he did have a couple good passes too.  He had a nice outing.

Maurice Briggs (2009, 6-6 SF/PF)
Maurice showed a little bit of his inside and outside game.  On the perimeter, he hit a three pointer and attacked some off the dribble.  He had a nice pass and drew a foul on another three point attempt.  Maurice converted two of the three free throws after the foul.  He had a nice pass too in this solid game.

Team Delaware

Tomir Gibbs (2012, 6-0 PG/SG)
We only caught the end of this contest, but Tomir was still able to make some plays.  The lefty hit a runner and was fouled for an old fashioned three point play.  He was fouled on the break too.  He buried a three pointer as well.  Tomir did force one shot in the lane.  He looks to be a good young prospect though.
