New York Forward Makes Commitment

The Albany Great Danes recently received a commitment from versatile 6-6 forward James Stukes from Rice High School in New York.  James will join the Albany program after spending next season at South Kent in Connecticut.

At South Kent, he will team up with another NYC standout and NY Gauchos teammate in Molloy's Russ Smith.

James is a strong forward, that can score inside and outside.  He'll often attack off the bounce and uses his size to finish well in the lane.  He has good hands and crashes the offensive glass too.

The face up forward can knock down some jumpers as well, but isn't consistent from the outside.  Not surprisingly, James rebounds the ball well at both ends.  He works hard and plays with a lot of energy when he takes the court.

This past season, he averaged 13.3 points per game on a Rice squad that won the New York State Title.  James originally committed to Robert Morris last fall, but decided a year of prep school would be a better option to improve his play and boost his grades.

James should be a welcome addition at South Kent and in upstate New York when he joins the Albany program for the following season.
