Cedrick Lindsay

Early this spring, we saw a talented guard by the name of Wayne Sparrow playing with the Baltimore Assault AAU program.  He was a big reason that his team won the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament back in April.  We were surprised to learn that he had already committed the previous fall to the Richmond Spiders.  Wayne showed he can score and shoot the ball.

This past weekend, the Spiders added some more firepower to their backcourt.  Gifted scoring guard Cedrick Lindsay is taking his game to Virginia's capital.  Lindsay played on a top notch high school team (Gonzaga) and AAU program (DC Assault).

Although not the biggest player on the court, Cedrick always stands out because of his incredible quickness and knack for adjusting and scoring in traffic.  He excels at pushing the ball and making plays in transition.  He can shoot the ball from the perimeter, using a quick release.  He is a great competitor too.

Cedrick can play either guard spot, but is better as a scorer than a setup man.  He just flat out produces and that is very hard to ignore.  His winning pedigree is also hard to overlook as well.  Cedrick had an outstanding summer, has his college choice out of the way and can now look forward to a strong senior season with the Purple Eagles.

Richmond has gone into Baltimore and DC and picked up two outstanding players thus far.  Both really know how to score.  They each should help the Spiders out as they continue to try to ascend to the top of the Atlantic 10.
