Dragons Pick Up a Commitment

On Wednesday, Trenton Catholic guard Frantz Massenat gave a verbal commitment to Head Coach Bruiser Flint and the Drexel Dragons.  He is the second commitment for Drexel, with 2009 recruit Dartaye Ruffin taking a detour to prep school before arriving in University City.

Frantz is a talented guard who performed well over the summer on a balanced NJABC AAU program.  He ran the offense on a team surrounded by a cast of potential mid major level players.

During the high school season, he also led the way for the talented Trenton Catholic squad, which were runners up for the 2nd straight year in the state finals.  This year, they bowed out to powerhouse St. Patrick's after falling to another power, St. Anthony's, the year before.

Frantz is a gifted lead guard.  He's a very quick ball handler who can attack off the dribble.  He has a good understanding of how to play the point guard position as well.  He'll often look to get his teammates involved first.  Frantz is a good finisher and can run the floor.  The more you see him, the more you appreciate the fine all around game that he brings to the table.

The Dragons currently boast a relatively small backcourt and Frantz's size should be a welcome addition.  His three point shot continues to develop and if he can improve it more, he could play either guard spot at Drexel.  Frantz should have the opportunity to see the court early on and help the Dragons to remain in the upper tier of the CAA.
