W&M gets commitment from Atlantic Shores guard
Friday, 23 October 2009

ImageDaily Press: William and Mary received a fourth commitment for the 2010 basketball recruiting class, from Atlantic Shores point guard Brandon Britt .

Britt, 6-foot and 170 pounds, chose the Tribe over Appalachian State, Richmond and UNC Wilmington. He was the point guard on an Atlantic Shores team with major college prospects Andre Dawkins (Duke) and Steven Pledger (Oklahoma) on the wings.

Britt said he chose the Tribe because of early interest from the coaches, the chance for immediate playing time, the school's strong academic profile, and the opportunity to play in front of family and friends.

"I was ready to get the whole thing over with," Britt said. "Everybody thinks the recruiting process is fun, and it is for a while, but it's also long and stressful. William and Mary has been talking to me since last spring. When I visited there, it seemed like the best fit for me. They play in a good league and I think I can contribute right away. Their system fits me and I really like the coaches."
