Husker Extra: Former Nebraska forward Christian Standhardinger is transferring to La Salle, an Atlantic 10 Conference school in Philadelphia.

Standhardinger, who announced Dec. 17 he was leaving the Huskers, told the Journal Star he'll begin classes at La Salle on Jan. 18.

La Salle loses five seniors -- three of them listed as forwards -- from this year's team that's currently 6-9. Standhardinger, a true sophomore, will sit out this semester and the fall semester before he's eligible to play.

The 6-foot-8, 215-pound Standhardinger averaged 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in six games this season. He then missed four games for academic reasons before deciding to transfer.
