Loyola-Chicago lands Ramblers guard Jeff White
Friday, 21 October 2011
LoyolaChicagoLogo.jpgIllinois Preps Bulls-eye: Jeff White, the 6'1 2012 combo guard from Manual High School in Peoria, IL has verbally committed to Loyola-Chicago.  He ended up choosing the Ramblers over offers from Missouri State, Illinois-Chicago and Kent State.  The commitment was confirmed by Illinois Wolves traveling team coach and CEO Mike Mullins.

White ended up finalizing his decision after taking an official visit to the Loyola campus today.  As has been the case with all of Ramblers head coach Porter Moser's commits thus far, White is excited about the opportunity to come in and be a part of the Rambler rebuilding effort.  In addition, he was also quite impressed with the new athletic facilities and the campus atmosphere.

White is a combo guard who is more of a scorer as opposed to being a pure point guard or shooting guard.  Nevertheless, he brings plenty of positives to the table, including the ability to attack the basket, get out on the break and convert shots from beyond 3-point land although streaky.  We also like White's defensive ability in the open court, as he does a good job of pressuring the ball and converting off of turnovers.

Above everything else, White knows what it takes to win games, as he comes from winning programs both at the high school level at Peoria Manual and on the traveling team circuit with the Illinois Wolves.  That is something that should prove to be a huge intangible with respect to him figuring into Moser's future plans.
