South Florida grabs a duo for 2013
Thursday, 08 December 2011
usflogo.jpg  South Florida hit the daily double on Tuesday, with multiple reports that they landed their first two commitments from the 2013 class. Both pledges conveniently reside in the same household, and 6′-0″ guard Drew Davis  and 7′-0″ center John Egbunu will hit campus already extremely familiar with each other. Both Davis and Egbunu attend Eagle’s Landing (GA), but do not play at the school.
Davis’ father, Linzy Davis, is the long-time coach of the Georgia Elite basketball program. Davis is predictably very high on Egbunu, even likening him to former Georgia prep superstar Dwight Howard. Other sources consider the native of Bauchi, Nigeria to be raw, but with plenty of potential down the road. According to TampaBayOnline, other programs recruiting Egbunu included Clemson, Nebraska, Georgia Tech and Memphis. His future and current running mate, Drew Davis, is described as a capable outside shooter from the point guard position.
Davis and Egbunu are teammates on the Team Georgia Elite travelling team, which is coached by Linzy Davis. Rather than play at Eagle’s Landing, Davis and Egbunu play together on the independent Christian school circuit, on a team called Georgia Elite Christian.
