The Recruit Scoop: With guards starting to make up their minds on colleges in the class of 2013, Brandon Austin has come to a conclusion on his decision.

On Thursday night, the 2013 6-foot-6 guard from Imhotep Charter in Pennsylvania decided to stay in-state as he verbally committed to Penn State.

“I have committed to Penn State,” said Austin. He will join another guard Geno Thorpe, who is also committed to the Nittany Lions for 2013. To go along with that, he will join Brandon Taylor, a 2012 Penn State commit, who came from the same AAU program as Austin in Team Philly.

Austin chose Penn State over programs like Syracuse, Villanova, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh and others because of, “the academics, the school, the coaches and the program.”
