Washington Post: Largo senior guard Derrick Colter, a second team All-Met selection after guiding the Lions to the Maryland 2A final, has committed to Duquesne.
The 5-foot-10 guard – who often plays bigger than his size with slashing moves to the basket, tough rebounding and a strong shooting tough – committed to the Pittsburgh school Friday morning, a day after taking his first visit there.
“It’s a good fit and I can play at that level and they can get me where I need to be,” Colter said.
Colter, one of the region’s best point guards and among the best players in Prince George’s County, led Largo to a 22-5 record and a No. 13 spot in the Post’s final rankings. He averaged 22.5 point per game – second in the county and first in the PG 3A/2A/1A league.
