Duquesne emigre Donovon Jack commits to Penn State

ImagePenn Live: Reading's Donovon Jack, a wiry, long-armed 6-9 forward, who was allowed to de-commit from Duquesne because of the recent firing of Ron Everhart, plans to sign with Penn State, according to his father.

The left-handed Jack averaged 17.0 points (on fewer than 10 field goal attempts per game), 10.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks for new school Berks Catholic's District 3-AAA champions after transferring from Reading Central Catholic. Jack shot 68 percent from the field and at one point last season made 42 consecutive field goal attempts.

Jack's strengths are his wingspan, decent dexterity and footwork, ability to finish near the hoop and brains (he plans to pursue a degree in some realm of the physical sciences). His prime weaknesses are average mobility and a skinny build (205 pounds).
