SI Live: New Wagner College coach Bashir Mason has landed his first addition to the Seahawks program since taking over the reins in March from Dan Hurley, and the move is an eye-catcher.

Jay Harris, a well-regarded sophomore guard for Horizon League regular-season champ Valparaiso, has announced his intention to transfer to Wagner, the Advance has learned.

Harris has two years eligibility remaining, and will be available to play beginning in the Fall of 2013.

An integral part of the Valpo program, which is going through a transition from the stewardship of former head man Homer Drew to that of his son, Bryce, Harris averaged nine points per game for the 22-12 Crusaders as a sophomore and 5.1 ppg as a freshman.
