Hargrave guard signs; Phoebus star let go

ImageVirginian-Pilot: An already large incoming freshman class has grown by one for the Old Dominion men's basketball team with the addition of Ambrose Mosley, a 6-foot-2 guard from Jacksonville, Fla., by way of Hargrave Military Academy.

Meanwhile, a modest 2011 class grew even smaller, with the dismissal of freshman guard Breon Key, a reserve from Phoebus High who was let go for falling short of his "academic and social responsibilities," according to coach Blaine Taylor.

ODU will now have seven new players next year and six returning ones, a roster makeover that jibes with a change in eras as one of the Colonial Athletic Association's most successful programs prepares for a move to Conference USA in 2013.

"We're really excited about adding Ambrose to our freshmen," Taylor said. "This is going to be a very strong group of incoming players."
