Dayton Daily News: Growing up, Valley View High School basketball standout Zach Denny dreamt of playing at a Division I college before beginning a professional career.

However, the ball was not round and orange in his dreams.

“I always had that dream,” Denny said after committing to Bowling Green State University. “I dreamed of being a professional football player when I was a little kid, then I fell in love with basketball.”

Denny, who received offers from eight schools, narrowed his final list to Bowling Green State University and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro before committing to the Falcons.

“I was looking to stay in state,” Denny said. “I really liked the facilities and the coaches at Bowling Green.”
