Daily Press: It was more than three years ago when the notion first surfaced in Jordan Baker's head.

"I was watching one of their games when I was in the 8th grade," Baker said. "And I told my sister, 'If they offer me, I'll commit.' But I wasn't really thinking it would happen at that point."

Yet it did. Baker, a rising senior at Hampton High who was vital during the Crabbers' state championship run, has given his commitment to Old Dominion's basketball program.

Baker, a 6-foot-2 guard, averaged 9.1 points a game last season. He was known as a defensive stopper and Anthony Barber's wingman. But he also developed a reputation for hitting big shots.
