Indy Star: Pike senior guard Zavier Turner committed to Ball State on Tuesday night and expects to make an impact on the program in the very near future.

The 5-8 Turner, who helped Pike to the Class 4A championship game has a junior, picked Ball State over a number of other mid-major offers and interest from bigger schools, like Penn State.

“(Ball State was) very loyal to me throughout the whole process,” said Turner, who averaged 15.0 points and 6.2 assists for Pike last season. “I transferred AAU teams this summer and wasn’t playing quite as much, but they stuck with me and watched all the games. They said all along they could see me doing big things at Ball State.”
