SB Nation: Just five days after he gave his verbal commitment to Minnesota, junior college power forward Daniel Edozie withdrew his commitment from Minnesota on Monday.
The 6'8 240-pound forward told the Pioneer Press that he liked the way Minnesota coach Tubby Smith and his staff approached the recruiting process. Now, less than a week later, Edozie and the Minnesota staff reportedly mutually decided to part ways.
Edozie also received interest from Oregon and Oklahoma, although neither school offered a scholarship. With Edozie no longer in the class, Minnesota has three available scholarships with Alvin Ellis the only player currently committed as part of the 2013 class. According to a report from the Star Tribune, Minnesota is reportedly recruiting several other interior players including Gavin Schilling and Nigel Hayes.
