East Brunswick's Bell picks Princeton
Sunday, 25 November 2012
ImageMy Central Jersey: As was first reported by NJ Press Media, Amir Bell, a 6-foot-3 junior point guard from East Brunswick High School verbally committed to Princeton Monday night.

Bell was garnering interest from a handful of Division I schools including Iona, Northeastern, Fairfield, Rider, Niagra, St. Francis and Robert Morris, but wasted little time in selecting the Ivy League Institution.

“I chose Princeton because of its great academic and basketball tradition,” Bell explained. “Academically, there is no better school in the country. I was sure Princeton was the right choice, so there was no need to prolong the process.

N.J. Hoops ranked Bell in August the 23rd best 2014 prospect in the state. Princeton's first 2014 commit, Bell figures to fill a looming backcourt need for the Tigers after junior starters T.J. Bray and Chris Clement graduate.
