Ohio State picks up commitment from Garfield Heights junior David Bell
Tuesday, 12 February 2013
ImageCleveland.com: Garfield Heights junior David Bell orally committed to play basketball for Ohio State on Monday night, a day after he made an unofficial visit to the campus.

"Ohio State's my dream school,'' said Bell, who has not yet chosen a major. "It's close for my family to come down and watch me play, and I feel comfortable with the coaching staff.''

Bell, a 6-foot-10 forward who is averaging 17.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.6 blocks this season, wasn't discouraged when the Buckeyes didn't make the scholarship offer after he witnessed their 81-68 Big Ten loss to Indiana.

"No hard feelings whatsoever,'' said Bell. "They had just lost and coach (Thad)  Matta had a lot of people to talk to after the game, and I understand that.

"They've been in contact with me for a long time, so I know they want me.''
