ImageAll Eyes on U Hoops: "There are a lot of guys just as good as the players you see on TV, but they didn't have the grades so they had to play junior college ball." Moberly Area CC Rayshawn Simmons told All Eyes on U Hoops. The 6'3 lead guard from Webster Grove High School in St. Louis was not one of them, in fact he had a 4.0 GPA in high school. "Being a qualifier made it so I only had to stay for one year, so I do have three years left."

Simmons was being recruited by schools like Middle Tennessee State, Evansville, Morehead State and Austin Peay, but he choose Central Michigan to continue his basketball career at. "I like the system they play and it was just the best fit for me." Rayshawn said. "My high school coach knows Coach Gerdeman (CMU assistant coach) real well and just felt comfortable there."Rayshawn will take his official visit to CMU sometime after the final four,

Rayshawn shoot 37% from 3 point land for Moberly Area CC as well as average 7.3 assist a game. "I love to attack and create" Simmons said. "I can hit the open 3 as well, but I like to be a leader, make the players around me better and make positive things happen." Simmons can play off the ball as well, but he says he likes being the primary ball handler. He is working on his pull up jumper and his change of speed moves.
