Kyle Vinales Returning To Central Connecticut
Friday, 14 June 2013
ImageHartford Courant: Tantalized by possibilities after two years of prolific scoring at Central Connecticut, guard Kyle Vinales announced in April that he would transfer to a program that gave him a better chance at playing in the NCAA Tournament.

A month later, saying he has matured through what became a grass-isn't-greener revelation, Vinales has decided to remain at Central for his final two years of eligibility.

"Central is the best place for me," Vinales said Friday from Detroit. "Everyone there cares about me and my future. I figured out that the winning thing falls on my back, mostly, as one of the leaders."

Vinales, who will return to New Britain Thursday, averaged 21.6 points last season as Central (13-17) finished seventh in the Northeast Conference for the second consecutive season. He watched the NCAA Tournament, considered the chance to play for a high-major team and told coach Howie Dickenman he was leaving without a destination in mind.
