Duncan makes oral commitment to play for Vermont
Tuesday, 02 July 2013

ImageEvansville Courier & Press: Ernie Duncan enjoyed his official visit to the University of Vermont last weekend immensely. And the more he thought about it, he didn’t think he would find a better place to play college basketball.

As a result, Duncan made an oral commitment to play for the Catamounts on Tuesday. He cannot sign a binding national letter of intent until the fall signing period begins in November.

“I analyzed it and I believe I will not find a better place, that I will not find a better fit or a place that I would feel more comfortable,” said Duncan, a 6-foot-3 point guard who will be a senior at Harrison High School.

He consulted with several people and they told him that if he didn’t think he could find a better fit than Vermont, then he shouldn’t wait to make a commitment. The Catamounts advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 and ’12.
