Drexel gets second verbal this week in Sammy Mojica
Wednesday, 28 August 2013

ImageCity of Basketball Love: In the span of six days, Drexel’s 2014 recruiting class has gotten quite the kick-start. The Dragons received their second commitment in the last week on Wednesday, when Brimmer & May (Mass.) senior Sammy Mojica verbally committed to play for head coach Bruiser Flint.

“It’s official,” he told CoBL.

The only other collegiate offer Mojica had was from Binghamton University, and after visiting Drexel and thinking about the two schools it was clear to him which one was the better fit. A large part of his decision had to do with the presence of Flint, now entering his 13th year at the helm of the Dragons.

“I love the coach, he’s a real good guy,” he said. “I like playing for coaches that are always on you like that and he’s just an all-around good guy; I haven’t built a big relationship with him yet but since I met him I feel like I’m close to him already and it just felt right when I was there, felt like I got along there.”
