Mount Saint Mary's Gets NC Big Man
Monday, 16 September 2013

ImagePhenom Hoop Report:  On his official visit to Mt St Mary’s 6’8” North Carolina forward Troy Henderson saw that Mt St Mary’s was the place for him, “The overall potential of, not only myself, but the program as a whole. The opportunities they provide outside of basketball. Plus the chances of, not only going to the tourney but, going deep are higher.”

The rising senior at Gaston Day School says that his coach of record was a big time reason for his decision, “Coach Wilkins started on me early my junior year. We got pretty close talking probably two or three times a week.”

The Upward Stars alum speaks of the long term plans the Mountaineers had for him, “Eventually I will be a three. But next year, depending on how quickly I transition, will play a stretch four.” Henderson goes on to speak of Mt St Mary’s system and its appeal, “They are really uptempo, all five players on the court have the green light.”

Henderson is rated the #26 rising senior in NC by the Phenom Hoop Report.
