In a big move Mount Saint Mary's grabs up Butler Bulldog transfer Andrew Smeathers. Smeathers is a 6'6'' Small Forward with a prolific 3-point shot, he will thrive in the Mount Mayhem style.

Andrew will be enrolled at Mount Saint Mary's Jan. 2014 and will be eligible to play beginning Jan. 2015 with 2 years of eligibilty.

Coming out of Carter Grove Highschool in Bargersville, IN. Smeathers was ranked #5 in state of Indiana and # 197 in the Nation by position. He played for Spiece Indy Heat AAU in 2011. In the summer of 2011 Smeathers held offers from Morehead St., William & Mary, Butler, Indiana St., and IPFW; he also gained tons of interest from Bucknell, Northern Colorado and Miami (OH) before deciding on the Butler Bulldogs.

He chose The Mount over IUPUI to transfer to since his announcement of intent to transfer just 6 days before the start of 2013-2014 season.

During the 2011-2012 season at Butler Andrew Smeathers averaged 5.4 minutes per game, 30.6 FG% along with averaging 1.9ppg. In 2012-2013 he averaged just 2.4 minutes per game to go with only 1.0ppg. News first surfaced via Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Smeathers joins a "Big" incoming class at The Mount which features 4 other newcomers 6'6'' or taller. The Mount will be a team to be reckon with for a few years to come.
