Rating:
Name: Khalil Mumford
Position:  PG/SG
Height:  5-11
Weight:  160
Year:  2009
Class:  College Transfer
School:  St. Peter's (NJ)
AAU:  Team Philly
PPG:
RPG:
APG:
BPG:

Analysis:
Khalil is a solid left-handed scoring guard.  He has a beautiful stroke and can fill up the stat sheet in a hurry.  He is a also a very good ball handler who is very effective at beating his man off the dribble.  He is more comfortable pulling up for a jumper than taking it all the way to the hoop.   Mumford  has all the skills that one could want from a shooting guard, but unfortuneatly he is undersized and his body is more suited to play the point guard position.  To play point at the next level, he is going to have to improve his passing skills.

Game Analysis:

Donofrio Classic (3/29/06)

This kid is certainly a very good scorer.  He has a sweet left handed stroke which he used to burry several three points.  He is also smooth off the dribble and finished well in the open court.  With his small frame, he isn’t able to score around the bucket as well in the half court game as someone like Lewis.  It’s unclear where he will end up.  He appears to have the game of a mid major shooting guard, but the body of a point guard.

Coaches vs. Cancer All Star Game (4/25/06)

Khalil had another good game from the perimeter.  He is such an ideal high school SG shooting guard.  It’s just unfortunate that he’d be an undersized at that position at the college level.

Philly USA All-City Basketball Classic (6/2/06)

Sonny Hill League (6/20/06)

Khalil played a very good game and was most effective scoring in transition.  He also hit a few of his smooth jumpers.  While he's not a bad passer, I would like to see his passing skills improve a bit.  He also is capable of dribbling with his right hand at the high school level, but needs to improve in that area a bit when he gets to the next level.  Mumford can just flat out score.
